The Great Debates: Misguided Muse Edition - "Black Girl Lost" VS. "Jazzybelle"

My vote is with 'Kast (nobody that knows me should be surprised) but Nas hits that point home hard too.

Has Twitter Made Life Tweeter Really?

I spend more time than I'd like to admit doing what I call "polyin' and promotin'" on Twitter, but in the process I've made my workday longer, ticked off an ex or two and revealed way more than I'm comfortable with about my shopping and drinking habits, so when a friend of mine sent me this video I had to share it with you guys.

"Dude, I'm at the Free Clinic!!! UH OH!!!" Classic.

And the reaction to the fail whale is no joke either. Folks have been having massive problems with the latest version of Twitterberry over the last few days and been HEATED over their inability to tweet at will.

Personally I never thought I'd be so twitter-addicted, but nowadays, I wake up to check my @replies before I check my email so I know I'm hooked. My friends and I even jokingly call each other by our twitter handles in person, for example, "Hey Wassup @JaneeTMB?"

When I changed my Facebook status yesterday to "I wish Facebook would stop trying to be Twitter" in response to the new Facebook format which obviously mimics Twitter's "What are you doing" status update scroll -- I got IMMEDIATE responses in agreement.

As for whether my life has gotten any "tweeter" -- yes it has. I've been networking with other writer/bloggers more efficiently than ever and found searching for content much easier than my old Google search technique.

P.S. If you're a fellow twitterholic feel free to follow me at www.twitter.com/janeetmb

Where The Wild Things Are

Now this is a flick I can get behind. Loved the book -- hope Spike Jonze pulls it off as well as the trailer looks like he did.

Arcade Fires "Wake Up" is the music in case you were wondering.

A Match Made In Hypeland

When it comes to theater of the absurd there isn't anything more logical than T-Pain joining forces with Busta and calling in Hype to mastermind the video. That's just silly genius :) BTW, I guess I should tell you this is the trailer for Busta's "Hustlaz Anthem '09"ft T-Pain video directed by Hype Williams.

Fight The Power - Lockdown USA Rally in NYC

Tomorrow: Russell Simmons, Hundreds of New Yorkers to Rally at Gov’s Office to End Rockefeller Drug Laws

March 24, 2009 – On Wednesday, hundreds of people -- including Russell Simmons and Meile Rockefeller and the families of those in prison for drug offenses, people who were formerly incarcerated, doctors, lawyers and advocates -- will rally at Governor Paterson’s Manhattan office to urge him and legislative leaders to end the Rockefeller Drug Laws.

The Rockefeller Drug Laws mandate extremely harsh sentences for sale or possession of small amounts of drugs. Most of the thousands of people incarcerated under Rockefeller are low-level drug offenders, and most come from just a handful of low-income New York City neighborhoods. Ninety percent are black or Latino even though most people who use and sell drugs are white.

In 2002, Paterson, then a state senator, was arrested in an act of civil disobedience promoting a proposed overhaul of the Rockefeller Drug Laws outside of the New York City offices of then-Governor George Pataki. Now hundreds of people will gather outside his office to demand an end to the outdated, discriminatory laws.

What:
Rally to end New York’s Rockefeller Drug Laws

When:
Wednesday, March 25, 1 p.m.

Where:
Governor Paterson’s office, 633 3rd Ave., between 40th and 41st

And It Don't Stop... Badu, Common and Kanye West Kick A Freestyle Session for SXSW

Wonder if ish is still awkward between Badu and Common --- his face looked like that smile might be hiding some hurt feelins. On another note, Erykah outrapped Kanye! Yes, I said it.

Classic Lovesick Pining MJ Style

This might just be my favorite song of the moment, regardless of how long that moment lasts, it's one of my faves period anyway. The video says Jackson 5 but it's off Michael's first album.

I Heart Audrey Tatou

Looks like a decent biopic is finally getting made of Coco Chanel -- guess I better brush up on my French. Audrey Tatou is that chick tho, she made me actually consider naming my still unconceived daughter Amelie.

Little Boots > Kid Cudi

Sorry but I think Cudi is booty... No further comments.

What's the Buzz on Megabone

When I got a Twitter notification that MegaBone was following my updates I joked to a friend that I hoped he wasn't falsely advertising. It turns out that some of my old Brooklyn buds are funking with house classics these days. Of course with my sense of humor I got a kick out of their video for "Vibrator".

Now that's enough to make you want to go out and buy a Hitachi Magic Wand. www.megabone.com

Rick Ross is THE BOSS!!!

Yummy :) haha, i heart Rick Ross... Shoutout to J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League!

I can show you, so much better than I can tell you...

Harlem Heights >>> Gossip Girl???

Hmmm. I think SWP night might be getting the boot! BET has a new show Monday nights that runs at the same time as my precious Hills replacement The City, but fam loyalty (shouts to KW) definitely overrides any what-happens-next-with-Whitney-and-Jay curiosity. Besides, looks like this could get very interesting. Mondays @ 10pm on BET

Oh FUX No! Police Brutality Lives In Seattle

The victim is only 15-years-old. My homie DV One was brutally beaten by Seattle cops a few years ago. When is the brutality gonna stop??? And since when did calling somebody a fat pig make putting hands on folks justifiable actions?

Bo Bey Reps His "Steel City"
