Watch This: Travis Porter "Go Shorty Go"

So this is what the youth dem are listenin' to these days. I'm just glad they didn't do the typical greenscreen/soundstage video. Oh, and I'd much rather the kids singalong to "Go Shorty Go" on the radio than "Becky" any day.

Watch This: Joell Ortiz and Lil Fame In Studio

YAOWA! This is a snippet from the studio session where Fizzy Womack and Mr. Ortiz created a monsterous sounding record called "Like You" currently scheduled to be on Joell's Free Agent LP coming soon. This shit sounds bananas word to Gwen Stefani!

Ads I Love: "Ice Cream"

I like the ending, nice twist on "2 Girls 1 Cup"

I think they should do a remix with the Wu-Tang "Ice Cream" cut in the back. French Vanilla, Caramel Sundae, Chocolate Deluxe!

Watch This: 50 Cent "Do You Think About Me" (full video)

Directed by Chris Robinson.

Gotta give it up to 50 for doing this all the way -- video really helps make the song. Funny ish with Vivica slashing the tires of one Lambo as Fif rides away in the other. And props to Tahiry who looks amazing in the video.

Listen Up: Jay Electronica "Exhibit C"

Produced by Just Blaze... Jay Electronica is a true lyricist! Exhibit C indeed -- check the evidence:

Fuck that, call me Jay ElecHannukah
Jay ElecYarmulke
Jay ElecTramadaan Muhammad Asalaamica RasoulAllah Supana Watallah thought your monitor
My uzi still weigh a ton, check the barometer
Im hotter then the mothafuckin sun, check the thermometer...

It's been a long time coming but soon everyone will recognize. Crazy, some of my very first posts here were on Jay Electronica.

Watch This: Kid Cudi "Pursuit of Happiness"

As my homie @timmhotep put it on Twitter: "Theme of the CuDi is video is "I know a lot of white girls . . . and Drake."

What do you think of the video? And why do rappers love spraying champagne on girls? They've been doing it for years!!!

Watch This: H-Town & Jodeci "Knockin Your Heels Off"

As you can see from the video black does indeed crack. K-Ci, JoJo, Dalvin, Devante and the two remaining members of H-Town try to make a comeback. It's a sad day when Jo-Jo is the best looking member of the group. But let me not be superficial or overly critical. On the bright side, let's give the director some credit for all that dim lighting.

What do you think of the song? Is "Knockin Your Heels Off" too much of a knockoff of "Knockin Da Boots?"

Watch This: Sade "Soldier of Love"

Here it is -- the first new material from Sade in 10 years. And it's GREAT! The title track off her upcoming lp Soldier of Love

Co-produced with Mike Pela, "Soldier of Love" was written by Sade along with longtime collaborators Andrew Hale, Stuart Matthewman and Paul Spencer Denman. The song, featuring a pulsating and anthemic drum beat along with haunting vocals that Sade is known for, is now set to hit airwaves and will kick off the countdown for Soldier of Love. Recorded in England and set for release worldwide on February 8th, Soldier of Love marks Sade’s first studio album since the multi-platinum release of Lovers Rock in 2000.

The first single “Soldier Of Love” premiered today at 7am EST on www.sade.com.

Watch This: Rhymefest "Give It To Me"

Very dope video from Rhymefest for the single off his upcoming album "El Che". Shouts to the director Konee Rok for the socio-political cartoon montage and special effects, very nice touch sir.

Watch This: Cashis "High As Fucc"

Another video that makes me miss California... Love this beat -- hmmm maybe Cashis' A&R is doing some work (jokes)!

Watch This: B.O.B. Performs "Nothin On U"

Bobby Ray had a concert on Friday December 4 in Atlanta and performed his new single "Nothin on U" ft. Bruno Mars for the first time. I can't wait for the video -- I hear he'll be shooting it very soon.

Not-Such-A-Model Mulatto

You'll never find Tiger under the Model Mulatto heading now! Tiger-HO!

Watch This: SNL Takes on Tiger

This would be funny to me if I wasn't so sick of hearing about Tiger, his 9 mistresses, sexting and his failure to use condoms. Enough already. Cheetah Woods.

Watch This: 50 Cent "Do You Think About Me"

Gotta give it to 50 -- after being "So Disrespectful" - to Vivica Fox she comes back to play a version of herself in his video. Money does the damndest things doesn't it?

Friday, December 4, 2009

Watch This: Jeremih "Raindrops"

Whew... So that's how it goes down at Magic City (on a tamer level)??? Next time I have an extra stack to waste I know where to go.

All The Way Live: Lee "Scratch" Perry is Coming To America

Lee “Scratch” Perry, one of the most important figures in the history of reggae music, will be embarking on a brief US tour this month. As an artist, songwriter, innovator, performer, creator and especially a producer, Perry has been at the forefront of reggae music since the late 50's ska movement and is considered to be the inventor of dub, reggae and the “scratch” turntable effect used by DJ's everywhere.

Perry's most recent album, the Grammy-nominated Repentance, fuses his signature style with a truly diverse collection of contemporary musical influences. Starting with a chance meeting between Perry and hyper-energetic artist/producer Andrew W.K. at SXSW in 2006, the pair formed an unthinkable friendship which led to a musical collaboration, resulting in the remarkable Repentance, Perry's 54th studio album. Guest musicians include Moby,Don Fleming, and drummer Brian Chippendale of Lightning Bolt!

Ice Cube Gets Into the Cartoon Business

Back in 1990 when I first discovered N.W.A. I'd never guess that one day Ice Cube would be making cartoons some day.

I'm guessing this is one animated series you might want to keep away from the kiddies. The DVD hits stores December 8.
